Online auction planned

Update: The Auction is now live and can be accessed by clicking here:

There are so many examples of people giving what they can to meet community needs. With our campaign projected to fall short of the community need goal by about $1.5 million, staff, board and volunteers are doing everything they can to bridge the gap.

We have had a number of donations of items over the last year that we’re going to put in an online auction that will run from November 10th to 17th.

Ron Finch from Advantage Learning Solutions dropped off a very special magnum of Tragically Hip wine. It is one of only 250 that were ever made available, signed by the entire band, including the late Gord Downie. Thanks Ron!

We also have some fun sports memorabilia packages that will be on the auction block containing hockey cards, posters, and figurines donated by Dale Unruh Sr. combined with limited edition prints of a painting by Joe Versikaitis, signed by the subject: Theo Fleury.

Other businesses are putting prize packages together as a way of helping us to finish strong with the 2017 Community Campaign. For a lot of businesses, it is easier to donate products or services than cash. We understand that completely. The online Give What You Can United Way Auction gives them a chance to participate in this community effort and promote their business at the same time.

If you have a product or service that you think would help us raise some money, please get in touch with us. Shelby Tosh is the point person on the auction. She can be reached by email at, or by phone at 780-791-0077, ext. 3000.

We would love to hear from you.
