New staff at United Way

With the kick-off of the 2015 Community Campaign just a few weeks away, The United Way of Fort McMurray is pleased to introduce a number of new faces to its team.

“We’ve had some great people move on to other opportunities over the summer months,” said Diane Shannon, Executive Director. “It is important for us to have a solid team in place heading into campaign and I’m excited to announce that we have four excellent additions.”

Sherry Duncan, who spent a number of years leading and innovating in the post-secondary field is moving into the role of Community Investment Coordinator. Jennifer Kennett, most recently in a human resources role in industry, is our new Resource Development Coordinator. Pavlina Vaverka, with a broad range of finance and payroll experience, is our new Finance Coordinator. And Misty Oakes moves into the role of Community Animator with a strong communications, marketing and special event background.

“We have an exceptional team put together to help us be ready for an exciting campaign this fall,” said Shannon. “A common thread among these four exceptional ladies is a desire to contribute to building a stronger community through the work of The United Way and The Redpoll Centre.”
