Calendar celebrates diversity

The Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo is doing a unique fundraising project in support of the 2014 Community Campaign.  Launched at the United Way kick-off event in September, their 2014-2015 calendar celebrates the global diversity of our region.

“We have so many cultures and traditions that form the fabric of Wood Buffalo,” said Mary Thomas, Executive Director, Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo.

“This calendar provides a great visual representation about our diversity and detailed information about the many holidays and special celebrations that happen throughout the year.”

Many nations, traditions and religions are represented in this colourful publication that is selling for $12 each.

“This calendar promotes understanding and acceptance of the many customs and beliefs that are practised by people from around the globe who have made Wood Buffalo their home,” said Thomas.

The Multicultural Calendar is available at the Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo office.  Call 780-791-5186 to arrange to pick up your copy.  All net proceeds of this project will go toward the community fund.
