United Way Raffles Raise Funds for Community

FORT MCMURRAY, AB- United Way Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo is thrilled to announce that last weekend’s 50/50 winner took home $13,955.

The June 6th raffle is one in a series of raffles by United Way, that kicked off at Carrie Underwood on May 30th.  The two concerts collectively raised over $27,000 that will be invested back into the community through United Way agencies and initiatives.

“The funds raised will be used to help thousands of individuals and families in our community,” said Jo-Anne Packham, Director of Community Impact and Development. “We are ecstatic with the amount of participation from the community.”

United Way will continue the 50/50 raffles this Saturday, June 13th, at the Bryan Adams concert.  Tickets will be for purchase on the main concourse and from volunteers throughout the concert area.

“The raffles would not be possible without the assistance of partner agency volunteers,” said Packham.  “Thank you for all of your help, it is truly a group effort.”

United Way would also like to thank everyone who purchased a 50/50 ticket, for showing your Local Love and helping tackle the #UNIGNORABLE issues in our region.
