OIL BARONS PAINT OUR TOWN RED!

Fort McMurray, AB   Wednesday, October 12th, 2011--  This Friday the Fort McMurray Oil Barons are asking their fans to come out and help Paint Our Town Red in support of the United Way!

Fans are being encouraged to show their United Way pride by wearing red to the Friday night game and the Barons themselves will be lacing up with red laces! The United Way will also be on hand to promote the Community Campaign, with Executive Director Diane Shannon dropping the puck and volunteers on-site handing out United Way information and selling tickets for the 2011 Car Raffle.

Red is the collour of United Way and this year's campaign theme is Paint Our Town Red. The theme symbolizes United Way's drive to get everyone engaged in building our community by asking people to Paint Our Town Red... Give. Volunteer. Act.

Friday is also the Community Campaign's official half-way paiont and the United Way is still working hard to reach this year's goal of $7.5 million. The United Way currently supports more than 60 local programs and is involved in a variety of community impact projects.

Our Mission: To improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action.
