2009 Goal Announcement
United Way Kick-Off Breakfast
“I Believe in Possibility”
The United Way of Fort McMurray is serving up more than pancakes this Thursday, September 10th, 2009 at 7:30 a.m. – the closely guarded 2009 Campaign Goal will also be presented!
Despite these difficult times, we are a community that always overcomes challenges. We understand how important it is to care for those that may not have the same opportunities that many of us take for granted. That,” stated United Way 2009 Campaign Chair Kenny Jones, “is why we have chosen I Believe in Possibility as the theme to lead us into this campaign”.
The very successful 2008 campaign raised $4.49 Million dollars and, for the third consecutive year, gave us the honour of having the highest per capita United Way donations in Canada. The needs in our community continue to grow and by reaching out once again, we can strengthen our city and make lasting change for everyone.
The seniors at the Golden Years Society, one of the 22 member agencies supported by United Way, are hosts of the Kick-Off Pancake Breakfast to benefit the campaign.
As Fort McMurray grows, the United Way wants to ensure that this is always a community-wide campaign and will rely on all our media friends to helps us achieve this success. Get all the updates on the campaign and have the opportunity to speak with Campaign Co-Chair Jason Reimer and meet with many of our supported member agencies that will also be in attendance.
