MEMBER AGENCY INTERVIEWS
Registered charities operating in Fort McMurray who have applied for United Way funding will be undergoing interviews by the United Way Community Investment Committee throughout December and January. ART FOR EVERYONE
The Art for Everyone exhibit opens on December 1st at the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery. This collective exhibition features drawing, painting, photography and mixed media made by local artists. The exhibit runs until January 18th, and proceeds from the sale of Art for Everyone works will benefit the United Way of Fort McMurray.
SOS WORLDWIDE CANDLE LIGHTING
Some Other Solutions is hosting the 2nd Annual Candle Lighting at Father Mercredi Community Highschool on December 11 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. The event is held in honour of children who have passed away. For more information, please call 780-743-8605
NONPROFIT HOLIDAY SOCIAL
The Nonprofit Sector Link will host a Nonprofit Holiday Social from 4 - 6 p.m. at The Redpoll Centre on December 16. All those working in the not-for-profit sector are welcome to attend this free event, food and refreshments provided.
FORT MCMURRAY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT ART ON EXHIBIT
The Redpoll Centre's artist exhibition for the winter of 2011-2012 is a collective exhibit featuring the works of students from the Fort McMurray Public School District. We will be hosting some of these amazing pieces until February.
THE REDPOLL CENTRE CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The Redpoll Centre will be closed from Monday December 26, re-opening on January 3rd.
NEW BEGINNINGS FOR MEN
This closed support group for men affected by domestic violence starts on January 11. For more information, please contact the Family Crisis society at 780-743-4691 ext. 3.
FORT MCMURRAY EARLY YEARS COALITION COMMUNITY BREAKFASTS
The coalition would like to invite you to a community breakfast to share the results of the ECMap Early Childhood Development Mapping Project. January sessions will take place on January 18, 2012 from 7:30 -9a.m. at the YMCA Birchwood Child Development Centre, and on January 24, 2012 from 7:30 - 9 a.m. at the RCMP Cormier Community Room.
