S.P.C.A is continuing to work with the public in education of humane treatment of all animals within the community as well as critical issues such as spaying and neutering and housing. We want to develop strong partnerships with rural communities in dealing with animal control issues. We focus on staff development and fundraising initiatives to ensure the long term sustainability of the Adoption Centre.
The United Way helps support the Pet Therapy program, which does everything from help bring a smile to those people who sometimes do not have a lot to smile about, to rehabilitation of those who were thought to never move a limb again. Elderly people who have not moved a limb in years have been seen lifting an arm to pet a furry friend.
