HOW YOU CAN HELP- DONATE

The United Way of Fort McMurray supports over 60 local programs and agencies. That means your donation is upporting your friends, neighbours and community. Because United Way is connected to all sectors, we are in a unique position to closely track and respond to social needs as they arise. Our target areas of All That Kids Can Be, Healthy People, Strong Communities, and From Poverty to Possibility allow us to support a diverse cross-section of Wood Buffalo, including programs that range from mental health support, Search and Rescue, and after school care.

The funding streams offered through the United Way provide opportunities to member and non-member agencies in the community. We believe in a strong non-profit sector that is innovative and entrepreneurial in its response to social needs.

All United Way funding requests are carefully screened by a local volunteer committee and all United Way financial affairs are subject to an annual audit by an independent accounting firm.

Donors may also choose to designate a portion of their contribution to a specific area or agency.

PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS

Payroll deductions allow you to give little amounts that, over the course of the year, add up to a larger gift. Print three copies, one for your payroll department, one for United Way and one for your own personal records.

Feel free to drop by the United Way office in person. Donations by cash, credit card and even gifts of securities can be arranged through a visit with our team.

Please note, payroll deduction receipts appear on the employee’s T4. All other gifts of $25 or more will automatically receive a charitable tax receipt. If you would like a receipt for a gift less than $25 please contact the Campaign Department at campaign@fmunitedway.com
